As we are entering this busy time of year, it can be hard to think about
the new year ahead and all that may bring with a recognition that for
some, new beginnings can be exciting, or bring a whole host of other
emotions for others such as anticipation, anxiety, or even uncertainty
and fear. We recognise that as counsellors, building a support network
to share experiences with, and to support one another can be helpful and
much needed in a profession where we can feel quite alone.
This was what was originally behind the development of the Peer Support
group that we set up a few years ago and we in particular saw how
beneficial it was during Covid. That support has continued to grow and
grow which has been lovely to see.
Now, looking at the year ahead, we thought it was a good time to
re-evaluate how we run the Peer Support, and also the Deep Release
Regional Training Group that was launched from our offices last year,
along with sharing dates for next year to help with organisation of
diaries.
The Peer Support we are moving an hour earlier and will be running for
three hours instead of four. This is to give everyone time to do other
things but still able to join us when weekends tend to be quite busy.
The Deep Release Regional Training Group is moving to Saturday mornings.
The format will be changing to a full four hours of training and
experiential group work. Please see the attached flyers for more
information.
We hope that you all have a lovely holiday, and look forward to seeing
many of you in January!
Best wishes,
Christine and Helen
